Case Study: LED Bollard Lighting Installation

JE Technical carried out the entire installation of the new LED bollard lighting inclusive of all groundworks alongside our specialist civil engineering contractor.

Client: Worcester City Council

Phase 1:

Fence off all work areas to prevent the general public from accessing the work areas, liaising with Worcester City Parks Department to ensure full compliance from a Health & Safety point of view and maintaining safety of operatives, engineers, and the general public throughout the project.

Phase 2:

Civil engineering contractor began trenching and installing duct work, to allow for the later installation of all wiring to new bollards in various locations spanning approximately 300m.

Phase 3:

JE Technical began installing cable rod system throughout the ductwork and installing SWA cable to all bollard lighting positions, from existing distribution equipment within steel feeder pillar.

Phase 4:

This entailed carefully installing and connecting the bespoke oak finished bollards with our civil engineering operatives, back filling all trenches and finally energizing the new circuit to ensure full operation of photovoltaic cell controls and LEDs themselves.

Phase 5:

The final phase of this project included providing our client with a full 18th Edition Electrical Installation Certificate covering the new circuits installed, raking backfilled trenches and re-grass seeding the grounds that were disturbed, before removing all barriers.
